DUE TO PRESS START TIMES AT OUR NEW PRESSES WE CAN ONLY CARRY THE NATIONAL LOTTERY RESULTS IN OUR LATER EDITIONS TOP ministers have rallied round the under-fire Home Secretary Amber Rudd as she admitted she should have known about targets for removing immigrants.

Labour and the SNP stepped up calls for her to quit following the leak of a Home Office memo suggesting she was informed of the targets, even though she had previously told MPs she was unaware of them.

But in a series of late tweets on Friday, Ms Rudd said although her office was copied in to the document she did not see it. She apologised for “not being aware” of targets, including 12,800 “enforced returns” in 201718, and said she would make a statement tomorrow.

Her assertion that she did not see the leaked memo about targets for illegal immigrants is crucial as, under the Ministerial Code, any minister who “knowingly” misleads Parliament is expected to resign.

But it leaves her open to criticism she has lost her grip. Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott said it was setting a “broad numerical target” for removals which contributed to Commonwealth citizens being wrongly told to leave.

A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with murdering a mother-of-three.

The body of Hollie Kerrell, 28, was found on Thursday after she had been missing for four days.

Christopher Kerrell, 35, of Whitton, Powys, was remanded in custody at Merthyr Magistrates’ Court. A DRIVER who moved to the passenger seat after switching on his hi-tech car’s “autopilot” has been banned.

Bhavesh Patel, 39, inset, also appeared to have his hands behind his head when he was filmed by a motorist in another car.

While driving his white Tesla S 60 along the M1 at around 40mph in May last year, Patel, who said he’d been “silly”, switched on the autopilot function. He then switched seats, leaving the steering wheel and foot controls unmanned.

On Friday, Patel, from Nottingham, pleaded
