BOLT’S POWER SURGE
USAIN Bolt is on track to become a superhero after being offered a role in the next Avengers movie.
And the Jamaican, 31, already has a superpower – his speed.
Bolt has become pals with Avengers star Chris Hemsworth, who is known around the world for playing Thor. And Chris said he could get the sprint legend a part.
Bolt said: “I met Chris at the Commonwealth Games. We were chatting and he asked me to become an Avenger. He was like, ‘We could really use your speed’!” Bolt has a string of world records and he’s won an incredible eight Olympic gold medals.
After retiring from athletics last year, he is on the lookout for a new career.
Bolt, who trained last month with German football team Borussia Dortmund, added: “I have been an Olympic gold medallist, a businessman and now a football player, so why couldn’t I be a future Avenger? Anything can happen.”
Bolt already has big-screen experience under his belt after his documentary I Am Bolt, which hit cinemas in 2016.
Joining the Avengers franchise would be a much bigger deal.
The latest instalment Infinity War was released on Thursday and is expected to be the top box office hit of the year.
The next film is due for release next year and even more instalments are expected.
If he could bring the same drive he showed on the track to an acting role, Bolt would be on to a winner.
Talking about the Commonwealth Games, he said: “Watching it on TV I get goosebumps and the urge to go out and compete.
“But I expected to feel that way. I know when competitions come around, I always want to compete. I always want to be the best.”
