-

DWAYNE “The Rock” Johnson is poised to earn more than £48million for a Jumanji sequel.

Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman confirmed fans will see Jumanji 2 land in cinemas next year.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle proved a massive hit over Christmas with revenues of £650m.

The remake of Robin Williams’ 1995 drama is one of the most successful films in Sony’s history, grossing

£700m on a budget of £65m. Sources say Johnson will receive a flat payment of

£18m with a further £700,000 payment for every £18m the movie makes.

A Sony insider said: “Jumanji had that brilliant mix of action and comedy, with Kevin Hart and Dwayne combining brilliantly.

“It really entertained all ages, so a sequel was a natural step.”

The source added: “All the co-stars are earning well too, but not in the same range as Dwayne. He is the biggest deal in cinema at the moment.”

Johnson, who also starred in the US smash Rampage, is set to start work on a Fast And Furious spin-off with Jason Statham.

PREMIER League clubs are helping to save our seas from plastic pollution.

English football’s top flight has partnered up with Sky Ocean Rescue and is cutting back on single-use plastics at grounds.

Stadiums will ban straws, stirrers and cutlery from the start of next season.
