he has become the park’s most beloved mascot.

To celebrate the occasion – and for the first time ever – Woody’s house is open for visitors to explore, plus they get to have their picture taken with the star of the resort.

Along with its state-of-the-art rides, PortAventura is also famed for its lavish entertainment programme.

This year it has gone all-out with the brand new Dance Revolution 2, a journey through the evolution of dance, staged at Gran Teatro Imperial in the China area of PortAventura Park. Another standout production for this season is the Can Can Show, packed with action, rhythm, fun and humour, in the Far West Saloon.

Plus there’s Noche de Fuego, a tribal ritual thrilling audiences to the beat of musical drums in Tahití, Polynesia.

To explore the whole park, guests often stay over.

Accommodation varies from the five-star Hotel Mansion de Lucy to an area set aside for motorhomes.

On the Far West site, the four-star WEEKEND CRUISE: PortAventura Hotel Gold River is in keeping with the American frontier theme and has recently added the 78-room Callaghan building.

If you fancy chilling out in the Spanish sun during your visit, there are three outdoor pools, three golf courses (two designed by Greg Norman), and a Beach Club with direct access to the sea.

Dining options at the resort range from the a la carte menu at the Opera House to the Grand Hall unlimited buffet set in a Wild West-style barn.

And if you need a nightcap to CRETE: BULGARIA: unwind after a busy day, enjoy one for the road in Callaghan’s bar served by friendly host John.

Getting there couldn’t be easier with flights from regional UK airports to Reus – just a 10-minute drive away. And it’s convenient if you’re holidaying around Barcelona or any of the popular resorts such as Salou, Tarragona and Sitges.

With its fast rides and thrilling family entertainment, PortAventura is so much more than a day out for sunseekers – it’s speeding ahead as a holiday destination in itself. HALKIDIKI:
