My colly wobbles on Corrie

- ■ by ED GLEAVE

PRESENTER Holly Willoughby has admitted she was racked with nerves as she made her Corrie debut.

The top TV host has filmed a scene for the soap alongside her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield.

In a new storyline Weatherfield residents Rosie (Helen Flanagan), Craig (Colson Smith) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) are invited on to the daytime show.

Speaking on set, Holly said: I was excited and nervous. “But I actually enjoyed it! I was once in Miss Marple playing a witch.

“I didn’t have to act much as I didn’t have any words! So I was nervous learning my lines this time.

“I’m fine with the autocue stuff but it’s the other bits that are more tricky.

“I’m trying to stick to my lines too and not ad lib.”

Phillip said: “That was really fun. There was a lot of laughter.”

The cast described the experience as “hilarious”.

Corrie chiefs are keen to keep details about the storyline under wraps.

But it has emerged the characters are invited on to the show after they intervene in a crime.

A spokeswoman for the show teased: “Rosie hails Holly as a ‘fashion icon’ and, in true Corrie style, the interview doesn’t go exactly as planned.”

The scene, which is due to air on June 4, will be part of Helen’s exit storyline. Corrie bosses have had a host of big names playing cameo roles in the past.

Stars including Sir Ian McKellen, Paddy McGuinness and Peter Schmeichel have all appeared on the soap.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
