Worry over meat muck

CONCERNS contaminated meat is entering the food chain due to “failings” at slaughterhouses have been raised by workers.

In a poll of meat hygiene inspectors, almost all said the industry could not be trusted to ensure no faecal contamination was present before meat was sold on.

They also said staff could not be trusted to recognise and remove any diseased sections.
