Honda’s on-message

THIS Honda Urban EV concept has justifiably won an award for its out-of-the-box thinking.

I love it. In fact, I’d go as far to say it’s got probably the best car interior I have ever seen.

I’m digging those view-enhancing skinny A-pillars, that wrap-around digital dash and the door-mounted rear-view mirror screens. And what’s not to like about a sofa-style bench front seat?

Another nice touch? There’s a screen between the headlights to broadcast digital interactive messages.

Honda suggest, naively I thought, that these could be greetings or helpful advice for fellow motorists. They’re a polite bunch the Japanese. Have they no idea how this message system would be abused on other shores?

Order books open next year. Let’s hope the production car is identical in every aspect.
