A HOSPITAL HEARTACHE FOR MOIRA

MOIRA Barton tries to comfort her son Matty in hospital after he is attacked. She is distraught after getting a call to say her beloved boy is recovering on a ward.

And Moira immediately suspects he was targeted because he is transgender.

She is shocked at his injuries and offers her support, but it’s clear Matty doesn’t want her there.

And when Moira asks if he was beaten because he is trans, Matty goes on the defensive before telling her he doesn’t think that was the reason.

But with bosses promising some huge storylines for their first regular transgender cast member – played by Ash Palmisciano – viewers are in for a rollercoaster as they find out what is going on with Matty.

An insider said: “Moira has been struggling to adapt to her daughter Hannah’s surprise return to the village.

“She had no idea she had been living in Manchester having transitioned as Matty, and Moira can’t get her head around it.

“There are big things coming up as she and Matty work on their relationship. When she gets the call to say he was beaten up she is beside herself with worry.

“But when she arrives at hospital it’s clear they have a long way to go before they can patch things up.”
