BRONSON: I’M LOVED UP AGAIN

Lag pursues ‘violet-smelling’ lady after marriage split

NOTORIOUS lag Charles Bronson has boasted he has found love again – just a week after splitting from his third wife.

Britain’s most infamous prisoner is convinced he is finally on the path to true love.

And he says that this time it will be for good.

The 65-year-old career criminal dumped Paula Williamson after becoming “disgusted” by her drinking and flirting.

The last straw came when his latest bride was snapped snogging a British lad in Tenerife.

A pal who has spoken to Bronson in Frankland Prison, Co. Durham, revealed he is already moving on.

Bronson told the friend: “I’ve met a woman coming to see me from Chesterfield who I really fancy. She smells like violets and really makes me laugh.

“It may be a blessing in disguise with what’s happened because, to be honest, I’m getting really strong feelings about this other woman.

“Don’t get me wrong, we haven’t kissed or anything yet, but we’ve held hands on a visit and she always sprays perfume on her letters she sends to me. I love that.”

Bronson, who now calls himself Charles Salvador, tied the knot with former Coronation Street actress Paula, 37, last November in top-security Wakefield Prison, West Yorks.

But their relationship was riddled with problems and the country’s longest-serving prisoner eventually launched a stinging attack on his soon-to-be ex-wife, branding her “lazy and unreliable” and claiming he is “well rid of her”.

Paula cried on Loose Women last week as she read out a statement confirming he is divorcing her because she let down him, his mum and most of all herself because of her drinking and drug-taking.

Bronson has spent 44 years behind bars due to a string of violent crimes both outside and inside jail.

He wed his first wife Irene Kelsey in 1971 before marrying Fatema Saira Rehman in the clink in HMP Woodhill, Milton Keynes, Bucks, in 2005. Despite his latest broken relationship, Bronson boasted more than 500 women are writing to him every week – and he has his “eye on one or two”.

He revealed in the call: “I’ve been married three times now. The next time I get married it will have to be to someone really special – somebody that ain’t going to be getting up to things with other men behind my back.”

Paula claims her “bizarre” marriage to Bronson drove her to the brink of suicide. In the fallout from their short-lived union, he left her a voicemail mocking her weight and saying she “looked like she has eaten a horse”. Other inmates and prison guards have also mocked Bronson for his wife’s wandering eye, shouting insults through the bars of his cell and labelling her “a tart”. Bronson added: “It’s been really embarrassing.”
