TV chat show queen Ellen DeGeneres publicly blasted her wife on the eve of their 10th anniversary– over their childless marriage, writes MIKE PARKER.

She slammed the actress Portia de Rossi when asked in an interview whether they intend to share their love by adopting a son or daughter.

Ellen, 60, told comic Jerry Seinfeld: “When I was younger, I really wanted to have a child.

“I never thought I’d give birth to a baby but I always believed I’d adopt somewhere down the line.”

In a series of sarcasmlaced jibes against former Ally McBeal star Portia, 45, she went on: “Portia doesn’t want kids. She doesn’t like the squealing.

“But she does want lots more horses, which I don’t.” she added in Seinfeld’s Netflix series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

The couple wed in 2008 after the same-sex marriage ban was overturned in California and have previously laughed off suggestions that they start a family.

A pal said: “Ellen’s all for adopting but Portia really isn’t a very kid-friendly woman at all. It’s been a major issue between them.”

A TV GHOSTBUSTER has declared Hull to be the scariest place in Britain.

Barri Ghai has been a paranormal investigator for 15 years and probed thousands of cases.

But a visit to the East Yorkshire city was too terrifying even for him and left him scarred for life.

The 39-year-old, inset right, has vowed never to return.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: “My job can be scary. There are times when I feel apprehension and fear walking to a place.

“It could be the most unassuming property like a semi-detached house and it catches you off guard.

“You walk in and immediately get a sense of the energy and feel fear. It affects people in various ways.

“In the last year I’ve experienced fear three or four times. I went into places where I was completely unprepared for what happened.

“I went to a place in Hull and took a photo of what looked like a portal and there were hands and faces coming out of this mirror.

“It was mind-blowing. It literally did scare me. It’s the only place I won’t go back to.”

Barri’s terrifying visit to Hull was during filming for new TV series Help! My House Is Haunted.

For his day job he gets hired by people who think they’re being haunted by spirits.

His years of expertise and hi-tech gear help him get rid of unwanted guests.

He said: “I look for a logical explanation first before turning to the paranormal.

“I consider science and rational thinking before ever jumping to conclusions.

“And 99% of the time you can explain away various phenomena. But then there’s that 1% and that’s what I’m looking for.

“I get up to 100 e-mails a month from people talking about experiences in their homes. “Sometimes people might want advice on a photo or video they’ve taken on their smartphone.” Barri has to be careful that requests he gets aren’t fakes. He added: “I get inundated with jobs. But it takes a long time to do the investigation because there’s so much checking to do.

“We have to go through a process to see if there is a normal explanation.

“And I have to check their credibility out because I don’t want to travel halfway across the country when it could be a false alarm or it could be a hoax.

“That does happen quite often.”
