Star Fern is back to her breast

-

A BRUSH with death has given Fern Britton the confidence to bare all on stage.

Sepsis left the presenter fighting for her life two years ago after developing an infection from a hysterectomy.

Now though Fern is touring the country in the nude as part of Tim Firth and Gary Barlow’s Calendar Girls musical.

She said: “This is the new me coming out on this tour.

“I don’t remember my 59th birthday because of the sepsis drama.

“Last year I was 60, now I’ve just turned 61. It’s a new decade for me. I’ve got to just crack on now.

“There are lots of things I want to do and I’m not scared of anything. Particularly dying. I’m not scared of any of it.”

Fern joined the likes of Denise Welch, 60, and Ruth Madoc, 75, to strip down in promotional pictures.

She added: “We’re not Love Island girls. We haven’t got perfectly perky breasts. We did promotional photos where we were virtually naked, so everybody has seen each other’s breasts – and that’s fine.

“People seeing your breasts is meaningless.”

A GOLD medal given to a hero who rescued passengers from the RMS Titanic has sold for £45,000.

Ernest GF Brown was the purser on the SS Carpathia, which saved more than 700 people after the liner sunk in the Atlantic Ocean in 1912.

His medal is one of 14 in the world and was sold in Bourne End, Bucks.
