WHEN your Christian name is Xherdan you are born with the X Factor.

And Xherdan Shaqiri believes he can bring that quality to Liverpool’s attempts to end their long wait for a trophy.

Liverpool have not won the title since 1990 and boss Jurgen Klopp is still waiting for his first trophy after three years on Merseyside.

But Switzerland star Shaqiri is a serial winner. He has been at clubs who have picked up 13 trophies during his time with them and – at £13.75million from

Stoke – is an exciting addition to Liverpool’s array of attacking talent.

The former Basel, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan winger is upbeat about how things will go at Liverpool this season, who launch their Premier League campaign at Anfield today against West Ham.

Shaqiri, 26, said: “For me, nothing is impossible.

“We can be everything we want to be.

We beat Manchester City in the league and the Champions League last season, so

I think we can win everything in the world.

“It has to be our ambition to compete with the best and to go on the field against whoever we are playing with the intention of dominating the game.”

During a glittering career, Shaqiri has won the Champions League and two Bundesliga titles while with Bayern Munich and was a league winner in Switzerland with Basel on three occasions.

Now, he wants to add the Premier League to his CV. The tricky ace said:

“Our aim is to win as many titles as possible. That is the goal of the club now and we are looking forward to this season getting started. “I came here to win titles and, of course, I have that winning mentality. I think this club needs to have this ambition to win titles.

“It is one of the best clubs in the world. I think they had a very successful season, a good season, last time, but we didn’t win a trophy. “It is important to again be very good – but you really need to win. “I think we now have the quality. We have taken players in with the quality to help the team.

“We have a talented team who can play to win titles.” Shaqiri, who played in this summer’s World Cup for Switzerland, stresses that Klopp now has strength in depth at his disposal after a summer spending spree to supplement what he already had – a team good enough to reach the Champions League Final just three months ago. Alisson, Fabinho and Naby Keita make up the quartet of new arrivals at Anfield this summer and Shaqiri said: “We have a big team and a lot of players with quality so I think that the coach can rotate.

“I think the club is totally different now to when he arrived. He has done a very good job and you can see that people have a lot of respect for him and his work.

“The progress of this club and this
