DANNY DYER: Sacré bleu, I’m French!

Shock for telly star on ancestry show

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by ED GLEAVE

ZUT alors, guvnor! Cockney geezer Danny Dyer could have French ancestors.

The EastEnders actor, 41, is on a mission to learn more about his family tree.

And it looks like his blood line leads back to the continent.

Danny, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, was in Paris last week to investigate his possible French heritage.

The search is being filmed for his second instalment of Who Do You Think You Are?

When he first took part in the BBC series in 2016, it emerged he has royal connections. Danny was stunned to learn he is a descendant of Edward III.

He also has links to William the Conqueror and Thomas Cromwell.

After filming in Paris, Danny will travel to other locations across Europe on his search for the truth.

A BBC insider said: “Danny is really hoping this will fill in the blanks to questions he still has unanswered from filming his episode of Who Do You Think You Are?

“The show will also focus on a few lighter moments, including Danny trying to learn how to speak the lingo. It will make for hilarious television.”

The telly hardman has been spotted by surprised tourists while in Paris.

One onlooker said: “People didn’t expect to see Danny in France.

“And they were even more surprised when they learned what he was there for.”

It is thought he has taken an extended break from EastEnders to film the project.

The actor is also gearing up to make his return to London’s West End.

He will star in highbrow play The Dumb Waiter at the Harold Pinter Theatre early next year.
