Pablo’s the key man to title bid says Bielsa

- By ADRIAN STILES

MARCELO BIELSA hailed Pablo Hernandez as the silent assassin who fired Leeds to top of the table.

The former Swansea winger, 33, scored his side’s third goal having already helped set up the first as Norwich were swept aside at Carrow Road.

Mateusz Klich and Ezgjan Alioski were the other scorers as Leeds moved ahead of Middlesbrough on goal difference.

Top spot is up for grabs again on Friday night when Tony Pulis’ Boro arrive at Elland Road.

The Leeds revolution appears to be gathering pace under the former Argentina manager.

And Bielsa made it clear that with a player like Hernandez at his disposal Leeds have a real chance of promotion.

“He is a complete player from every perspective,” he said.

“I think he can make me a better head coach because I see solutions in the decisions he is taking that I only saw very few times during my career.

“He is a real silent leader. He takes responsibility for the difficult things. He does all this without saying a word.”

Norwich head coach Daniel Farke said: “For us it is a disappointing result.”

Tim Krul managed to delay Leeds’ 21st-minute opener by parrying Alioski’s diving header from Hernandez’s diagonal ball to the left of the box.

However the ball went straight to Klich and the Pole kept his cool to slot home.

Krul certainly will not want reminding about the second.

This time Alioski decided to go it alone, unleashing a shot that really should not have gone through the Dutchman at his near post.

Teemu Pukki had another go 10 minutes later but this time Kalvin Phillips made the block.

Samuel Saiz wasted a good chance to make it 3-0, firing into the side-netting seven minutes into the second half.

But Hernandez did just that in the 66th minute, cutting in from the left and curling across Krul from the edge of the box.
