ROBBIE: I’m the boss of X Factor

ROBBIE Williams says he already feels like he’s in charge on The X Factor.

Show supremo Simon Cowell has lashed out £10million to recruit the singer and wife Ayda Field.

But after just one episode on the judging panel, Robbie is already in a power struggle to be top dog.

The Rock DJ star, 44, said: “In my world, I’m the boss. This show is Simon’s baby and has been for the longest time. He’s the best at it, so I’m always going to respect that he’s the boss. But at the same time, in my world, I’m the boss.

“So it’s an interesting juxtaposition between us, because ever since I left Take That I’ve been in a solo career, all the choices and decisions have been mine. Now I’m in a band again.”

Robbie’s cheeky banter proved a big hit with fans on last night’s show. And he admitted he had loved winding up Simon by stealing his thunder.

He joked: “I’ve been doing a lot of raising my hand up to stop the music, to stop the audition. I didn’t realise that it’s only Simon who does that normally! I’ve been trying to get Louis to do it a bit more often. I’m like, ‘Go on, put your hand up first, it feels great’.”

Despite his antics, Simon admitted Robbie was more than worth his huge paycheck. And he claimed fellow judges Ayda and Louis were also proving to be well worth their places.

He said: “To be honest with you, yes – it’s the best £10million I’ve ever spent. In life you have to do things like this. I’d rather do this than do nothing.

“For me it’s exciting and makes it more thrilling.

“But with all three of them you can see they’re not just there because they’ve got a pay cheque. They’re really happy they’ve got this job, and they’re making a difference.”
