Cheeky McMuffin all White for chef Marco

CHEF Marco Pierre White admits he is a fan of McDonald’s breakfasts.

The former Hell’s Kitchen star said their signature McMuffin brunch dish is “quite delicious”.

Marco, 56, told how the treat is his “guilty pleasure” before he heads out on angling trips.

He said: “I will be brutally honest. When I arrive at Weymouth at six o’clock in the morning to go sea fishing, I must confess my options are quite limited.

“I review the options and most times I go for McDonald’s.

“I’m not going to sit here and lie. “I must admit at six o’clock in the morning a McMuffin is quite delicious.”

Marco says he likes to keep things simple and despite earning three Michelin stars he says his pet hate is “petite cuisine”.

At last weekend’s Big Feastival he said: “There is nothing worse for me than going to one of those places that serves 18 courses, 20 courses and canapés. They bore me senseless, I like to get stuck in.

“For me food has to be real – it’s not about little plates.

“I accept that young chefs want to do that because they want to show off what they can do.

“Give me two great courses and that’s enough.”

Marco became the youngest British chef to earn three Michelin stars.

But in 1999 he gave up working in kitchens to turn restaurateur.

He now owns a string of venues around the UK including London Steakhouse Co and Marco Pierre White, Steakhouse, Bar & Grill.

But last month he suddenly closed one of his eateries in his hometown of Leeds.
