Jur last chance

- NEIL MOXLEY

JURGEN KLOPP admitted he knew Alisson Becker would drop a clanger – but insisted it will not happen again.

Liverpool’s boss shrugged off an embarrassing blooper by his new shot-stopper as the Reds maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 victory at Leicester.

The £66milion signing from Roma narrowly escaped a similar fate last week when a neat piece of skill outfoxed Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert at Anfield.

But this time he was caught out, being robbed by Kelechi Iheanacho for Rachid Ghezzal to claw back a goal after first-half efforts from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Klopp said: “Last week when he did what he did and everyone spoke about it, it was clear what would happen one day.

“I thought Joe Gomez – and Virgil van Dijk, for sure – could have cleared but for some reason he dribbles and they score the goal.

“I told him afterwards it was the best game to do it – because we won.

“It’s not cool but it’s only positive that he’s a good footballer. We have to use that in the right way.

“If we pass him the ball then we have to make an option for him. But no goalkeeper in the world should have dribbled in that situation – but he did it.

“Football is a game where mistakes happen. It was a big one but not decisive. It probably needs to happen – but it won’t happen again.”
