BOOMBOD

BACKED BY: Gemma Collins, Holly Hagan

WHAT IS IT: A soluble fibre weight loss shot drink that claims to “melt a muffin top” in four weeks. CAROLINE SAID: “Soluble fibre absorbs water in your gut, creating a feeling of fullness. “However, many plant-based foods such as beans, grains and some fruits are great sources of soluble fibre. “Your health and finances would be better off by just including these in your diet.”

SKINNY COFFEE CLUB

BACKED BY: Marnie Simpson, Charlotte Dawson WHAT IS IT: A six-calorie coffee drink that claims to help you drop a dress size in four weeks.

CAROLINE SAID: “The main ingredient supposedly leading to weight loss is garcinia cambogia – it’s said to reduce appetite and stop the body storing fat.

“The evidence to support this just isn’t there. Makers claim it boosts metabolism by using green tea extract. The only thing that will boost metabolism is building muscle and reducing your fat through diet and exercise.”

HERBALIFE

BACKED BY: Ferne McCann, Danielle Armstrong

WHAT IS IT: Plan that swaps meals for low calorie shakes, drinks and soups.

CAROLINE SAID:

“Since it replaces whole meals with low calorie alternatives you are, of course, likely to lose weight.

“The products include Cell Activator, Total Control, and Thermo Activator – but despite the names they’re all made of nutrients present in a normal, balanced diet.

“A serving of the Fibre and Health drink provides the same fibre as an apple. It’d be far better for you to just eat an apple.”
