OAP’S MURDER RAP

AN 83-year-old woman has been charged with murder after an 85-year-old man was stabbed to death.

Emergency services were called to a house in Handsworth, near Sheffield, where Alan Grayson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Marjorie Grayson appeared before Sheffield magistrates yesterday and was remanded in custody.

She is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday. There was no further detail from police about how the two were connected.

Det Insp Simon Palmer, the senior investigating officer, said: “Mr Grayson’s family are being supported by specialist officers during this incredibly difficult time and have asked that their privacy is respected.”
