SOUTH AFRICA claimed a shock win in Wellington yesterday as they ended a nine-year wait to get one over on New Zealand.

Winger Aphiwe Dyanti scored two tries as the Springboks controlled the match, with Willie Le Roux, Malcom Marx and Cheslin Kolbe also crossing for the visitors.

Rieko Ioane managed to score twice for the All Blacks, who outscored their visitors six tries to five, but poor kicking from Beauden Barrett cost the world champions.

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi said: “All we wanted to do was just give our best, give 100 per cent for each other and make sure the guy next to you respects you after the whistle.

“I think we showed a little bit of what we can do tonight.”
