LICENCE TO THRILL FOR LADY GAGA Bond theme call-up
LADY Gaga is in talks to sing the next James Bond theme tune.
The pop singer-turned actress has been thrown into the mix after earning rave reviews for her film A Star Is Born.
Gaga, 32, below, was previously removed from a shortlist of artists for the 25th 007 movie.
Bond bosses originally believed her movie role would make her unavailable to work for them.
But with the next Bond film now delayed after director Danny Boyle pulled out, Gaga is back in the mix.
And insiders make her the front-runner due to A Star Is Born’s huge success.
A source in the US said: “Lady Gaga’s performance in A Star Is Born has made everyone stand up and pay attention once more – and that includes Bond bosses.
“Her team have been approached asking her to submit a song for the next film.
“It is early days, but her performance in the film – especially singing the film finale I’ll Never Love Again – has made her an early favourite.”
Other names currently being touted for the theme tune include Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran.
But sources believe Gaga now has the edge – even though she has failed to get a single into the top 10 in the UK since 2013. In 2016 she re-invented herself and picked up a Golden Globe for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel.
And she is now tipped for Oscar nominations for both her acting and singing performances in A Star Is Born.
Our source over in the States added: “Because A Star Is Born is going from strength to strength she is in prime position to become a huge Hollywood leading lady and the world’s biggest pop star once more.”
