‘Twister’ is red hot in October

FOLLOWING Nigel Twiston-Davies’ horses is one of the golden rules of punting in October.

“Twister” usually makes hay as the month progresses and he has recently started to bang in the winners.

Rocco’s victory at Chepstow yesterday was typical of how fit he gets his horses first time out as he ran all the way to the line on what was his seasonal reappearance.

Today the trainer unleashes the promising BALLYMOY

(4.35) on day two of the excellent October meeting at Chepstow.

The five-year-old is still unexposed despite winning a valuable Sandown handicap in April – and off a rating of

139 he looks capable of winning today.

Equus Millar looks overpriced for Twiston Davies in the Persian War Novices’ Hurdle and is worth an each-way interest.

But Fergal O’Brien’s COOLANLY (3.25) could be a tough nut to crack. The trainer won the race with subsequent Grade One winner Poetic Rhythm last season.

Alan King’s ELYSEES

(2.15, nap) was a decent performer on the level and had form on soft ground, which he is likely to encounter today. The trainer is a master at producing useful juvenile hurdlers and Elysees has an appealing profile.

The Veterans’ Chase is a cracker and CAROLE’S DESTRIER (4.00) has slipped to a dangerously low handicap mark.

She would win this if anywhere near her best. Beat That is just a novice despite being a 10-yearold while On Tour has a big race in him.

The John Ayres Memorial Chase is ultra competitive and the well handicapped BARNEY DWAN (5.10) is a horse with a huge amount of talent. only Buy 1, Get 1 FREE
