There is no place like home for Moore

- By ADRIAN STILES

DARREN MOORE wants the West Brom fans to roar them to a fourth successive victory tomorrow night.

Out-of-form Brentford are the visitors to The Hawthorns and the Baggies boss is pleased to be back on home soil after long away trips to Ipswich and Swansea.

Last time Moore’s side played in front of their own fans they demolished Leeds 4-1 and were backed to the rafters.

And he said: “You always want to play football in front of your home fans.

“Credit to the away fans who followed us to Ipswich and Swansea.

“Fixture changes, night games, travelling, work the next day – I understand that fully and I’m glad the long journey home was made that bit sweeter with maximum points.

“I’m glad to be back in front of The Hawthorns crowd.

“Let’s make it electric like it was last time out.”

The memorable night against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds kick-started a positive run of form for Moore’s men.

But he has assured fans that confidence will not convert to complacency ahead of the clash with the struggling Bees.

He added: “I’m relatively pleased with how things are going at the moment.

“We’re always looking to improve in all areas.

“When you win games it breeds confidence, but not complacency.

“We’ve worked hard to put this run together but we’ve got more challenges ahead.

“Brentford are in a run of games which they won’t be happy with.

“That makes them even more dangerous in my eyes.”

Central defender Ahmed Hegazi admits three points are more important than a clean sheet tomorrow – but he would love both.

Albion earned a third straight league victory at Swansea on Wednesday after going a goal behind.

They remain the league’s highest scorers after Hegazi’s and Craig Dawson’s headers took the goal tally to 41 for the season.

But the Egypt international has set his sights firmly on recording more clean sheets.

“Swansea was a tough game and we got the three points which are very important to us,” Hegazi said.

“I’m not happy with the goal we conceded but we are trying to be more solid.

“A clean sheet for the goalkeeper and the defence would be great for us.”
