SIXTH Sense director M Night Shyamalan delivers another twisty horror teaming his 2000 hit Unbreakable with his 2016 comeback Split.

Bruce Willis returns as super-powered security guard David Dunn, James McAvoy is back as a lunatic with multiple personalities, and Samuel L Jackson is Elijah Price (aka Mr Glass) – a comic book fan with a dark secret. RELEASED: JANUARY 8 THIS big-hearted drama sees an ageing Laurel and Hardy heading to the UK for a troubled theatre tour. Their touching friendship makes for a tear-jerking finale. Steve Coogan and John C Reilly fit those bowlers so snugly, you forget it’s them. RELEASED: JAN 11 DISNEY is giving three of its stories live-action makeovers next year (Aladdin arrives in May and The Lion King in July) but Tim Burton’s take on their 1941 classic is the most intriguing. The elephant and the visionary director should make a great double act. RELEASED: FEBRUARY 8 AFTER more than 10 years, Marvel are finally letting a woman wear the spandex trousers. This adventure set in 1995 introduces us to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, a pilot who finds she doesn’t need a plane to fly. Samuel L Jackson is a young version of Nick Fury and Jude Law plays the commander of Kree Starforce, the elite unit Carol joins after gaining her powers.

Avengers: Infinity War ended with Fury sending out an urgent message to Captain Marvel after Thanos wiped out half the world’s population, so it looks like she will have a vital role to play in Avengers: Endgame which is due out in April. RELEASED: MAR 8 RON Perlman’s Hellboy is a tough act to follow, but David Harbour looks the part in publicity shots for the reboot.

Horror director Neil Marshall (The Descent) says his new version will be a lot darker than Guillermo del Toro’s films.

Ian MacShane is Hellboy’s adoptive dad and Milla Jovovich plays medieval sorceress The Blood Queen.

RELEASED: APRIL 12

FANS flocked to see Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, but will Taron Egerton’s Elton John top the charts?

The film covers the Crocodile Rock singer’s formative years from prodigy to his partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell).

Egerton will perform Elton’s early numbers himself and it won’t be the first time he has done so. He belted out an impressive vision of I’m Still Standing as an animated gorilla in 2016’s Sing.

Elton’s husband David Furnish is a producer and Eddie The Eagle’s Dexter Fletcher directs. RELEASED: MAY 24 WALLACE and Gromit makers Aardman have never produced a bad film and so hopes are high for their ruminant hero’s second big-screen adventure. In Shaun’s 2015 debut he got into some hilarious scrapes in the Big City. This time he has plenty to chew over when a spaceship crashes near Mossy Bottom Farm. Hijinks will almost certainly ensue when the woolly explorer and his flock of oddballs try to shepherd a cute alien back to her home planet.

RELEASED: OCTOBER 18 GODZILLA is no longer the biggest monster on the block in this overdue sequel to the excellent 2014 reboot.

He faces off with moth creature Mothra, dinosaur Rodan and his ultimate nemesis, the triple-headed King Ghidorah.

The film marks Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown’s big-screen debut while Sally Hawkins and Ken Watanabe return.

RELEASED: MAY 31 NOT to be confused with the other planned Joker movie that will see Jared Leto reprise his hammy turn from Suicide Squad, this one is an origins tale starring the brilliant Joaquin Phoenix.

Reportedly set in the 1980s, it will show the villain dying repeatedly on stage as a stand-up comic.

It’s intended to be the first in a new series of DC-based films separate to the “Extended Universe” series which, until recently, was dominated by Ben Affleck’s depressed Batman and Henry Cavill’s dour Superman. With The Hangover’s Todd Phillips in the director’s chair for this one, it should be a hoot. RELEASED: OCTOBER 4 FOR his ninth film, Quentin Tarantino recruited a brilliant cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino. A fading TV star (DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Pitt) try to break into the film industry in 1969 while the Manson Family murders are taking place.

RELEASED: JULY 26
