Furious Jose in dark over January spend

- By STEVE MILLAR

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho admits he’s in the dark about whether he can splash the cash next month.

The Special One has spent a whopping £367.5million since his arrival at Old Trafford two-and-a-half years ago.

But just weeks away from the transfer window opening, Mourinho hasn’t had ANY talks about new arrivals in January with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

And insiders within the Theatre of Dreams claim the United chief is seething that no deals are being worked on in the corridors of power.

But Mourinho held his emotions in check when asked if it was vitally important to add to his squad in January. He said: “I don’t know if we are going to have new players. I would like to

but I don’t know if it is possible or not. What does it depend on? It depends on the club. I don’t know and honestly I’m focused on my job of playing Liverpool and next week playing Cardiff.

“I’m more focused on that.”

Mourinho has been trying to land a central defender with United’s chief scout

Jim Lawlor making regular trips to Italy to watch Inter

Milan’s Milan Skriniar.

Napoli’s Senegal defender Kalidou

Koulibaly is another option if

United do spend in January.
