Kelly’s the best date of the year
SHE’S ONLY MODEL IN THE CALENDAR TOP 10
KELLY Brook is the only pin-up to make it into the 2019 calendar top 10.
Buyers are no longer making a date with glam girls and guys. Instead, they are adorning their walls with the likes of Cliff Richard and the superheroes from Marvel’s Avengers.
But it’s not hard to see why curvy Kelly is bucking the trend.
These days, the keen gardener, 39, is more likely to be found planting spuds than stripping off for the camera.
But her incredible figure is still a favourite among lusty lads.
Shots of gorgeous girls used to be a feature of garages and workplaces all over the UK.
After the Pirelli calendar was first published in 1964, photos of women dominated the charts for years. Jennie Halsall, from calendar firm Danilo.com, told us: “Kelly has maintained her focus and presence with her fans during this period.
“She is the leading glamour girl, and her girl next door look with classy photos singles her out from the rest.” While Kelly is the only model to feature this Christmas, girlband Little Mix also made the top 10.
Their army of fans helped them to clinch fifth place – four ahead of Kelly.
Golden oldie Cliff bagged sixth place, but the rest of the chart was dominated by movies and video games.
Harry Potter, Fortnite and Blue Planet make up the top three.
Star Wars, the Marvel Avengers and TV’s Friends also feature.
Jennie added: “Cliff’s fans are very passionate, and they often go to stores and rearrange displays to make the whole section look Cliff-only!
“But consumer trends have changed massively over the last five years.”
She explained that as viewing and listening has moved from mainstream TV and pop to internet channels such as YouTube and Netflix, demand from calendar buyers has changed too.
Jennie said: “This had opened up other genres and more brands.
“Gaming has really moved on massively in this time.
“The public’s attitude also changed. For instance, this year’s Blue Planet shows that people really do care about the environment.”
