HOLLY Willoughby will play matchmaker backstage at Dancing On Ice.

The host, 37, wants to see contestants have steamy affairs on the skating show.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “Over the years I’ve set up quite a few people. I like doing it. I’ve helped cause marriages and some very successful relationships.

“I really want there to be a romance on Dancing On Ice this series. I always want that to happen. Wouldn’t it be great? We all like a bit of romance. “As long as it’s two single people, then I’m well up for a bit of setting people up.”

There have been plenty of romances behind the scenes at Dancing On Ice in the past.

Pro skater Brianne Delcourt has enjoyed flings with three celeb contestants – Matt Lapinskas, Danny Young and Sam Attwater. Hunky pro Sylvain Longchambon began a relationship with Jennifer Metcalfe but left her for rival soap beauty Samia Ghadie. David Seaman fell for his partner Frankie Poultney and they married nine years later. Holly’s co-host Phillip Schofield, 56, is also keen to see romance blossom again. He said: “You never want things to undermine long-standing relationships. We’d like everyone’s marriages intact.

“But there is no question that when you have a celeb that needs attention and help and you have the fantastic professional who is in shining armour, then it can happen. It’s a heady mix.

“You just never know what will happen. I’ll definitely pass notes and play Cupid.”

Dancing On Ice will burst back on January 6 with a new line-up of celebs. Producers have secured plenty of fiery characters including Gemma Collins, James Jordan and Saira Khan.

The bookings mean fireworks are almost certain during the live shows.

Holly said: “We would love a spat between the judges. I do like a bit of chaos on a live show. I think we all do, don’t we?

“You don’t want anybody to be upset, but a little bit of chaos makes you feel like you’re really doing a live TV show.

“I think there’s room for that. It
