Luc-out for the Silva six-hitters DIGNE’S AIMING HIGH

- By STEVE MILLAR

LUCAS DIGNE’S arrival on Merseyside has coincided with Liverpool soaring to their highest level under boss Jurgen Klopp.

But Digne and his Everton team-mates are determined they won’t be left in the Kop shadows.

Digne, after stints at Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, joined Everton in August for an initial £18million – and has already been mightily impressed.

The French left-back says Everton have a new belief under boss Marco Silva and have set their sights on a top-six finish.

Tottenham arrive at Goodison today with Digne, 25, calling for another confidence-boosting victory followed by four more wins over the frantic Christmas fortnight.

He said: “A lot of people will now believe in our team because they can see we give everything on the pitch.

“Every player gives everything for the shirt.

“We are on an unbeaten run at Goodison and need to continue to stay unbeaten. We need to win in front of our fans because they have supported us very well all the time.

“We have amazing support. When you play away, it’s the same. We want to win all our holiday games and after that we will see.”

Digne has settled in well to his new “family” and is close to Richarlison, Ademola Lookman and Bernard.

He added: “I feel very good. The manager has given me a lot of confidence and since I arrived at the club my team-mates have been amazing with me.

“They’ve helped me with my English and to understand everything. When you feel good off the pitch you can feel good on it.

“I have really good relationships with Richi, Lookman and Bernard. They are amazing players. So intelligent.

“For me, it’s perfect because you play football and then after you spend the moment with your family. It’s perfect.

“My parents and brother are coming to England this weekend.

“Christmas is about spending it with your family – and Everton is my family.”
