King Pressley gives Carlisle fresh Hope

STEVEN PRESSLEY got off to a winning start as Carlisle manager as his side moved up to fourth with a 2-0 win against Cheltenham.

Jamie Devitt turned in a cross from Regan Slater to put the Cumbrians ahead early in the second half before Hallam Hope’s composed finish doubled the margin.

Third-placed Mansfield came from two goals down to win 3-2 against Colchester.

Tom Eastman and Courtney Senior made it 2-0 after half an hour.

But goals from Nicky Ajose and Tyler Walker pegged them back, while CJ Hamilton fired home to complete the recovery.

Leaders Lincoln ran out 1-0 winners over county rivals Grimsby in the early kick-off.

A 20-yard volley from Harry Toffolo (above) proved the difference between the two sides. Mariners goalkeeper James McKeown received his marching orders 14 minutes from time.

Bury stay second after coming from behind to beat Forest Green 2-1.

Reece Brown coolly opened the scoring after 28 minutes but Jay O’Shea levelled for Bury before Nicky Maynard’s winner with seven minutes to go. MK Dons fell to a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Crewe.

The Alex, who have the worst away record in League Two, won it in the 32nd minute through Charlie Kirk.

At the bottom, Notts County fell further adrift as goals from Tom James and Mihai Dobre earned Yeovil a 2-0 victory. Ricky Miller scored the only goal as Port Vale claimed a 1-0 win at Crawley, while Luke Wilkinson struck deep into injury time as Morecambe fell to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at home to Stevenage.

There was also late drama for Cambridge as David Amoo grabbed a winner at the death to sink Northampto­n – who had led twice – 3-2.

Elsewhere, Scott Wilson’s neat chipped finish gave Macclesfie­ld a 2-1 victory over Oldham, while a solitary strike from Jamille Matt secured Newport a 1-0 win over Exeter.

Goals from Marc Richards and Michael Doughty earned Swindon a 2-1 win at Tranmere.
