PAEDOPHILE Rolf Harris is under “house arrest” after he entered a school playground and waved at children.

The pervert, who was jailed for indecently assaulting four girls, has been ordered by his family not to leave the house without permission.

Police visited Harris, 88, after he was told to leave Oldfield Primary School in Bray, Berks, by the headteacher.

Daughter Bindi, who has been working to restore the disgraced TV entertainer’s reputation, has told friends it is a “PR disaster”.

She believes that keeping him inside the home he shares with his wife, Alwen Hughes, is the only option.

A family friend told the Daily Star Sunday: “There’s a lot of upset in the Harris house. Bindi is beside herself.

“She’s been working so hard on all of the upcoming books and a documentary to try to sell the good side of her dad.

“The upshot seems to be like house arrest, and Rolf now has to ask permission from his management team and handler if he wants to leave the house.

“They’re saying that it’s a PR disaster and are wondering what he was thinking.”

Harris, who first found fame as an artist, has told his family he saw a sculptor working on the school site near his home, so wandered over to chat. The source added: “We’re assured that it was all innocently done and a bit of a senior moment.

“But the family are flabbergasted that he would do such a thing and be so brazen, given the background.

“They think he’s still living on ‘Planet Rolf ’ and thinks he’s wellrecognised and in good favour.

“Rolf has told them he feels like a prisoner in his own home but the family feel like it’s the only option.”

Thames Valley Police said they had spoken to Harris in person and “given advice”.

A spokesman added: “A report was made that a man was on the site of the school.

“An officer attended the scene but no offence was committed.

“No arrests were made and advice has been given to the man involved.” The Ministry of Justice confirmed it was investigating and said they would take “appropriate action”.

It is not clear if Harris breached the terms of a licence imposed on his release from jail.

An MoJ spokesman said: “When sex offenders are released they are subject to strict licence conditions and are liable to be returned to custody for breaching them.”

One parent said Harris’s school visit made them feel “uneasy”. They added: “What was he doing there? I don’t think his excuse is effective enough.”

Harris was sentenced to five years and nine months in jail in 2014 for indecently assaulting four girls, one of whom was aged just seven or eight.

He was freed after serving almost three years.

In May last year he was cleared of a further four counts of indecent assault.
