A fresh Melody
Melody Thornton
me: “I do have a body of music that I have been working on all of
2018. “What I’m trying to do is get some support to help the music get as much of a look as I possibly can, because finding it yourself is tough.
“When you’ve invested so much of yourself in a project you obviously want to do the best things for it, so I hope that 2019 is the year it comes out.
“I’m going to do everything in my power to make it happen.
“My music is inspired by the late 60s and early 70s. It’s all very cinematic and has strings and horns, it’s very Shirley Basseyesque, with a Bond vibe.”
Which begs the question – would she like to do the
007 song for real? “That would be amazing,” said Melody. We’re sure it would be! OLLY Alexander of Years & Years who has been haunted by an unfriendly face in his nightmares 21 Savage who is seeking help from Jay Z’s lawyers to avoid being deported from the US back to Britain MOST of the 20,000 people in London's sold-out O2 were teenagers when Tears for Fears’ first album The Hurting came out in 1983. Then they would’ve listened it on a Sony Walkman, now they stood with their smartphones poised hoping to recapture their youth…
Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal have aged better THE Streets were back in their spiritual home of Brixton for a cracking gig that almost blew the roof off.
Mike Skinner was back pleasing the punters – including Peter Crouch who got a number of shout-outs – but there was Boyzone THIS WEEK’S than most. Roland’s voice is still rich and powerful and he hits those falsetto notes without wavering.
We were treated to 11 songs including Secret World, Change and the encore Shout. Back when they were written, the world couldn’t agree on weapons, trade and equality. So nothing much has changed…
A nostalgic delight. no crowd surfing from Mike on the night. Unfortunately, he had dislocated his shoulder when fans in Birmingham passed him around.
This is one of the UK’s best live acts, and they’re on top of their game.
