ACTRESS Rachel Weisz says she was a natural when it came to snogging Olivia Colman.

The Oscar hopefuls lock lips in the period drama The Favourite.

And when it came to filming the steamy scenes, the pair dived straight in.

Rachel, 48, said: “There’s not much preparation involved in kissing someone. My mouth met hers and our mouths just opened. There was no preparation. Olivia is just gorgeous and lovely. “My character was in love with her and they had been lovers since they were teenagers. There wasn’t an age of consent for women. We weren’t counted. It didn’t matter as women.”

In the film, Colman, 45, stars as Queen Anne while Weisz plays her adviser Sarah.

Their love story is set during the early 1700s.

Things turned nasty with the arrival of Sarah’s cousin Abigail – played in the movie by Emma Stone – sparking a vicious and passionate love triangle. Rachel’s performance has landed her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Oscars. But she refuses to take full credit for her success. She said: “My performance completely relied on the other two.

“I think it would be fair to say that each one of us relied on the other two. It was, I think, a true ensemble. They definitely made me better. “They’re both just so extraordinary, Olivia and Emma. The main story is about the three women. “And it was just a joy every day to watch them work and be in scenes with them and get to work opposite them. We had a lot of fun.” While girlon-girl snogs were easy for Rachel, dancing was another matter. In one scene she does a routine with Joe Alwyn, 27, as Baron Masham. She said: “It was a challenge. I have never danced professionally before. “And it was quite a complicated dance to learn.” Rachel is one of t busiest stars in Hollywood she said she couldn’t turn The Favourite.

She said: “It was an extra nary piece of writing, p knew that Yorgos Lanthimo directing and I’d worked him before.

“I would do any script, ev not very good script. I’d as he had something in mind. H pretty visionary person. He
