GINI WIJNALDUM reckons Liverpool are in with a shout of major success this season – thanks to James Milner having a bawl.

Milner, 33, is a double Premier League winner with Manchester City and knows better than most what’s needed to become a champion.

And that’s why Mr Versatilit­y won’t let standards slip in the battle to beat his old club to the title in May and compete at the highest level in the Champions League.

Milner is a major voice in the dressing room and he doesn’t hold back from the verbals when something isn’t right.

Wijnaldum, 28, said:

“He has shown over the years that he is a top-quality player, especially this season.

“Even when he was injured he came in the dressing room and would speak with all the players and try to keep everybody sharp.

“When he was not among the 18 players involved and in the stands, he was still part of the team and tried to help in whatever way he could.

“He would speak regularly with the players on training days, too, so I think he has had a big impact in how we are performing.

“It’s not only his quality on the pitch but also the way that he treats everyone and tries to keep everyone sharp and focused.
