FEAR OF Sanchez knows that performances if he is

-

ALEXIS SANCHEZ has revealed he fears time is running out for him to be a success at Manchester United.

The £450,000-a-week Chile striker faces a date with destiny in the next week.

Injuries to Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have handed him a big chance to shine – first in the FA Cup fifth round at Stamford Bridge tomorrow and then against Liverpool in the Premier League next Sunday.

And after failing to make an impact under Jose Mourinho, Sanchez admits he is desperate to turn his fortunes around, prove himself at Old Trafford and bring “joy” to the fans.

He said: “I think a player like me needs to show it right now. There’s no time or period to wait, nothing. That’s it.

“I’m hard on myself, too, but I want to play, I want to get at defenders.

“It worries me that people at United haven’t seen the best of me because I believe in my abilities as a player.

“I believe in what I am. Sometimes I’m calm because I believe in my ability.

“If a footballer no longer believes in his ability, it’s game over.

“I think people expect more of me right now but it will come.

“We’ve changed manager and I’ve started only two matches. That’s two out of 10 that we’ve played. One was 70 minutes against Arsenal, then 30, 10, 15 and 20 minutes.

“You’re in, you’re out, and I’m used to playing. It’s not an excuse because if I go on for 10 or 20 minutes I have to perform as that’s why I’m here. To make a difference.

“I love to play all the time. Always. I play football at home. I’d go and play in a garden right now because I love football.

“I don’t know how people see me but football is what I’ve loved from being a kid and it’s my passion.”

Sanchez wants more game time – but he is enjoying the better atmosphere inside United’s training ground under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after criticising Mourinho’s way of handling players.

He said: “I say things as they are and in my opinion, Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world in the way he coaches, how he studies videos, the way he goes about things.

“But then, within the group, there was that feeling that you were in the team, then out. “Sometimes I didn’t play, then I did, then I didn’t and as a player you lose confidence and each

player started to lose
