Robbo: No pressure

- By CHRIS HATHERALL

with the burden of expectation is nonsense.

“I think we’re ready for it,” he said.

“In terms of the pressure we let everybody else, the media, the experts, talk about that. The

only pressure on us is playing for Liverpool – and that’s big enough. If we can deal with that we can deal with anything. “Last year everybody started talking about winning the Champions League and said we were under pressure. “But we dealt with that, even if we just fell short at the final hurdle. So we have to keep going and go that one step further this time in both competitions.”

The Anfield side return to Champions League action against Bayern Munich on Tuesday determined to make a splash in Europe again.

Robertson added: “I think it is going to go right to the wire in the league. It will go to the last week of the season.” EMILE HESKEY is backing Liverpool to mount a dual campaign for domestic and European dominance.

The former England striker, 41, was part of the Liverpool side that won a cup treble in 2000-01.

And he believes a successful Champions League challenge can only aid their quest for that elusive Premier League crown.

Heskey said: “I think they have the squad strength to cope with Europe and still challenge on all fronts.

“I think momentum-wise, if you go into those games and get a good result then you can bring that into the league as well.

“I don’t think they should go into the game against Bayern Munich and see it as a distraction from the Premier League. A win breeds confidence and I think Liverpool should attack on all fronts.”
