THE RUMOUR: A person can be seen attempting suicide by jumping from a bridge in a scene in the Leonardo DiCaprio movie The Basketball Diaries.

IS IT TRUE? A small blurry object can be glimpsed falling behind actor Mark Wahlberg as the lads sit by a riverside.

But searches of police reports and newspapers around the time the scene was filmed show that there were no suicides on the George Washington Bridge.
