Bake Off celebs are not so Great

- By

BAKE Off’s latest celebrity contestants are massive flops in the tent, we can reveal.

Michelle Keegan, Russell Brand and Caroline Flack are competing in the charity series.

And Judge Prue Leith was shocked by how bad some of them were at the challenges.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “The lovely thing about celebrities is that most of them can’t cook, and that’s terrific fun for us.

“Even if they’ve never cooked, if they’re intelligent and they follow the recipe and they really try, then EXCLUSIVE ED GLEAVE

they can do well. So it’s always a surprise when they don’t.

“You never know who’s going to mess up. Some of them will be so appalling at one round, but then they’ll succeed with the showstopper.

“They usually come in thinking it will be a laugh. And then when they’re in the tent they become really competitive and want to do well.”

Prue is back alongside fellow Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood and presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding.

It’s the best celeb line-up in the show’s history to raise cash for Stand Up To Cancer.

Other stars taking part include US actor John Lithgow and presenter Jeremy Paxman.

Prue said: “It’s all light-hearted because it’s not like the pressure contestants feel.

“For those people, it can change your life if you win Bake Off.

“But it makes no difference to a celebrity if they make an idiot of themselves or they win.”
