Farke pride as his side pass big Lions test
Jack Grealish L Mason DANIEL FARKE insists the pressure is still off his table-topping Norwich despite taking a giant stride towards the Premier League.
The Canaries are back at the summit with 11 games left after they battled through a typical Den scrap.
Late goals from Christoph Zimmermann and Teemu Pukki made it five wins from their last six games.
And you sense this victory was one of their best of their entire campaign.
A delighted Farke said: “I’m pleased and happy and give big compliments to my lads.
“It feels so good we passed this test as it was one of most complicated games.
“We know we are on a brilliant run. To be on 69 points is a big surprise to so many people. We enjoy our run, we enjoy scoring goals.
“We do not feel pressure as everyone expected us to be mid-table or in a relegation battle. Everyone was talking on Friday how Leeds have momentum but we have momentum now.”
The Lions should have been ahead in the fourth minute as Jake Cooper and Steve Morison were both denied on the line.
Norwich took the lead in the 16th minute as Onel Hernandez burst through and was kept out by Jordan Archer before Marco Stiepermann netted the rebound.
Millwall were deservedly level in the last minute of the half but fortunate by how it came about.
Shane Ferguson’s low corner was terrible but Morison flicked it up for Williams to head home.
It was anyone’s game in the second half.
Norwich, though, showed their strength of character.
In what could potentially be the biggest moment of the whole season, Zimmermann headed home from Emi Buendia’s corner in the 69th minute.
Then, with 11 minutes left, Pukki got his ninth goal in eight games.
Lions boss Neil Harris said: “We had a four point safety net before this game and that has now disappeared.
“Our players were outstanding and played some good stuff.”
