CHEF ROSEMARY’S PREPARING SALSA

Twerking cook will be dancefloor star

- By SUSAN HILL

TV chef Rosemary Shrager hopes to cook up a storm on the Strictly dancefloor. Rosemary, 68, who is a big fan of the BBC One show, has already impressed bosses with her fun personality and no-nonsense attitude.

And the cook has previously admitted she is partial to a spot of twerking.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Rosemary is great fun, and everyone reckons she’ll be perfect for the next series.

“It’s still early days and they’re talking to a lot of people, but she’s been for meetings and has impressed bosses.

“The line-up won’t be announced for a few months, but she’s very much in the mix.

“And at the moment, it’s looking very likely that she’ll be taking part.

“She’s got a brilliant sense of humour and a wicked laugh but lacks a bit of patience, which will make for brilliant TV when she’s trying to learn the routines.”

Rosemary first shot to fame as the haute cuisine teacher on the reality show Ladette To Lady. In 2012, she appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and she has starred in cooking shows including ITV daytime series Chopping Block alongside Bake Off winner John Whaite, who taught her to twerk.

Our source added: “Rosemary Shrager twerking on Strictly Come Dancing would be television gold.

“She’s really up for it. She’s lost quite a bit of weight in recent months and is feeling fitter than she has in years. “She also really loves the show.”

Over the years, Strictly producers have cast a number of TV chefs including Simon Rimmer, Gary Rhodes, James Martin and Ainsley Harriott. Earlier this month, bosses confirmed the list of pro dancers who would be returning for the new series. With the exception of Pasha Kovalev, who announced he was leaving at the end of the last series, the line up is the same. Other celebrities who are rumoured to be taking part in Strictly 2019 include radio and television star Chris Evans, 52, chatshow host Alan Carr, 43, and the BBC newsreader Huw Edwards, 57.

Last night, a spokesman for the show said: “We do not comment on speculation.”
