DEFIANT DAD TO FIGHT ON

- By SIAN HEWITT

Mugshot of Venables at time of murder above, Ralph with Denise, below left, James, below THE heartbroken dad of murdered tot James Bulger has vowed to “wreak havoc” on his boy’s killer.

Defiant Ralph Bulger said he “will not rest” until he has exposed Jon Venables.

Sources say Ralph has also vowed to “torture” Venables for the “rest of his days” after his bid to overturn the killer’s lifelong anonymity failed.

Ralph lost his battle in the High Court to reveal the identity of Venables and details of how he has been living in recent years.

Judges ruled it would be too dangerous for the killer who could become open to attacks.

But a source close to the family say the dad has vowed to continue his fight despite the “severely disheartening” verdict in court.

Speaking to Daily Star Sunday for the first time since the verdict – on would have been James’ 29th birthday yesterday – a family insider said: “Ralph has lost his son in the worst way possible. What else does he have to lose?

“Why wouldn’t he carry on fighting to out him? Apparently Venables has been worrying about being outed. We all think he deserves to be tortured.

“If the worry causes him that, then all the better.”

The source added of the verdict: “It is sick, that’s what it is.

“Ralph believes Venables lost his right to protection and to live a quiet life when he continued to be evil and twisted into his adult life.

“He is a paedophile and a child killer for goodness sake. He will never change and so we will never stop fighting for justice.

“It is bizarre. We cannot work out why he is being so well protected. But we won’t stop. We need to wreak havoc and not be silent.

“You watch – he will continue to be in and out of the courts on sick charges and we will never know.”

Venables has lived anonymously since his release from a life sentence for the kidnap, torture and murder of two-year-old James in February 1993.

Yesterday James’ mum, who was not involved in the lawsuit, wished her boy happy birthday and tweeted: “Will be spending today thinking of my beautiful son James... forever in my heart.”

James was killed by Venables and pal Robert Thompson, both then aged 10, after they snatched him from a shopping centre in Bootle, Merseyside.

They were granted lifelong anonymity and following their release have lived under new identities.

But Venables has been in and out of prison after admitting charges of making indecent images of children – and even admitted to having a “sickening” paedophile manual.
