Victoria’s not amused as a horde of kids invade show

TELLY star Jenna Coleman has revealed it’s chaos on the set of Victoria.

The actress said the film crew face a constant battle to keep control of kids and farm animals during shooting.

When the new series begins tonight, Queen Victoria is about to become a mum for the sixth time, meaning there were more youngsters on set than ever before.

Jenna, 32, said: “It is a form of utterly amazing and completely chaotic mayhem. You just have to call ‘action’ and see what happens. Kids really do say the funniest things.

“It is the unpredictability on set which is hilarious, especially when you throw in a few dogs, horses and a couple of politicians.

“I can’t imagine the palace now not inhabited by hordes of children.”

Jenna also had to endure chilly temperatures on set. She said: “In a scene this series, Queen Victoria takes a dip in the water while wearing her bathing suit, which is a lot like pyjamas that are made from hemp.

“It was absolutely freezing and unfortunately we had to film this twice because the weather was so awful.” Victoria has become one of TV’s biggest dramas since launching three years ago.

More than five million Brits are expected to tune in for the new series tonight at 9pm on ITV.

It is set at the time of the French Revolution, when monarchies across Europe were under threat.

But Victoria is at war with a new rival.

He is Foreign Secretary Lord Palmerston, played by Laurence Fox.

Jenna said: “She hates him.

“Palmerston was a law unto himself and perhaps didn’t give her the deference she felt she deserved.”

Victoria also locks horns with her estranged sister.
