Si ‘swipes jokes from co-stars’

- EXCLUSIVE ED GLEAVE

SIMON Cowell nicks some of the best gags and oneliners from co-stars on his TV talent shows.

That is the incredible claim from Britain’s Got Talent co-judge David Walliams and X Factor host Dermot O’Leary.

Both stars say their boss hears sharp-witted quips from other people on the show, copies them and has them included in the final edit of his shows.

O’Leary, who was discussing Cowell on BGT The Champions with Walliams, said: “Does he do that thing where sometimes when you are doing a show that you know is going to get edited, if you say a great line he then just repeats the line?”

Walliams replied: “Oh yeah, he just says the line.”

The BGT judge then cited a recent example of Cowell’s cheeky attitude.

He said: “I said when there was a choir, ‘It was like being welcomed into heaven.’ And he just went ‘Ah it is like being welcomed into heaven.’” CORRIE star Lucy Fallon has begged show bosses not to kill her off.

The actress, who plays Bethany Platt, is quitting the soap in the new year but wants the door kept open for a return.

She said: “I don’t know if Bethany will be killed off yet.

“I haven’t been told what the storylines ahead of my exit will be, so I could be absolutely dead.

“Obviously I’d be sad if that happened. It would mean closing that door.

“Because it was my decision to leave, if my character gets killed off I won’t be annoyed.”

But she joked: “I’m going to be dead nice to the writers from now on!”

Lucy, 23, has played Bethany on Corrie for more than four years.
