MUM’S ‘BLESSING’ Lynda’s

- By RICHARD BARBER

LOOSE Women star Lynda Bellingham’s widower is to remarry – with the blessing of his late wife.

Michael Pattemore said the actress, famous as TV’s “Oxo Mum”, is looking down on him and would approve of his wedding to Pam Shotton.

Pam also lost her partner to cancer and will wed Michael at the church where Lynda’s funeral was held in November 2014.

Speaking from the mansion that he bought after Lynda’s death, Michael, 64, said: “I had a blissfully happy marriage to Lynda and now I’ve found the woman with whom I want to spend the rest of my life.

“I got down on bended knee and asked Pam to marry me during a church service and she said ‘Yes.’

“Lynda told me when she was sick in hospital, ‘I want to think you’ll find another love one day.’

“I know she is looking down on us both and wishing us well. I feel her presence all the time.

“Not many people second chance like this.”

The news comes a fortnight before the fifth anniversary of Lynda’s death from bowel cancer on October 19, 2014, at the age of 66.

Michael, her husband of six years, kept a bedside vigil.

Pictures of her – including a life-sized canvas of her at the foot of the stairs – still grace the walls of the eight-bed Grade II listed mansion which he now shares get a with Pam. But it doesn’t upset his new love who revealed she visits Lynda’s grave.

Widow Pam, who lost partner Victor in 2011, said: “I like to tend the grave and I also like to have a chat with her. ‘Hi Lynda,’ I’ll say, ‘are you OK?’

“Then I tell her, ‘I’ve cleaned the headstone and Michael is doing well. I’m looking after him.’

“But she knows that anyway. I think she’d be pleased he’s found love again. I don’t think she’d want him to be unhappy.

“I believe she’s smiling down on us in the same way that Victor is smiling down on me.”

The wedding will be held at St Bartholomew’s Church in Crewkerne, Somerset, where Michael’s parents are buried.

A family rift blew up after Lynda died.

Michael bought the mansion and was accused of blowing Lynda’s fortune.

Her sons Michael Peluso, 36, and brother Robbie, 31 – who are still embroiled in a bitter inheritance row with Michael – will not be invited to next year’s wedding ceremony.

The brothers claimed they had only seen £750 of their mother’s fortune which reportedly stood at £10million.
