ON STARS HAVING A VINE OLD TIME e y s

- By ISOBEL DICKINSON

CELEBS have cottoned on to a grape idea – starting their own booze brands.

It seems everyone from reality stars to A-listers are getting on the act.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker released her own sauvignon blanc last month in Sainsburys.

She joins the likes of US musician John Legend, who plugs his LVE wine with a little help from his wife Chrissy Teigen.

The former model and her singer husband were pictured posing with a bottle on a yacht as they cruised the Mediterranean during the summer.

And former couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who snapped up their Provençal vineyard Miraval back in 2011 for £31million, have even won a string of awards for their tipples.

The Daily Star Sunday’s Corkers wine buffs have been putting the best celebrity labels to the test... JURASSIC Park and Peaky Blinders star Sam Neill has owned and run this vineyard in the Otago region of New Zealand since 1993.

His Picnic Pinot Noir often comes in as one of the best on the planet.

VERDICT: Watch out – a few sips will turn you into a winosaur. Plush, textured red with blackcurrant, plum and cranberry notes. For meat eaters, it matches well with pork and rich dishes. It’s T-rexcellent. WE’LL all feel like we’re going on a Summer Holiday with a glass of this pink plonk.

Produced at Sir Cliff’s Adega do Cantor vineyard on Portugal’s Algarve, this rosé has a complex fruity aroma.

It fairs much better than his red which he once famously slagged off in a blind taste test on Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word.

VERDICT: Worth trying but not one you will savour all year round. IN contrast with the wacky wardrobe of her famous Sex and The City character Carrie Bradshaw, this offering is pretty understated. The sauvignon blanc, using grapes from the famed Marlborough region, is available only in Sainsburys.

VERDICT: Sex and the sauvy. It’s a weightier version of the fruity wine and has flavours of grapefruit, passionfruit and citrus zest. THE US President hopes to make America grape again with his New World Red from his winery in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia.

It has a soft flavour of dark fruits with a hint of chocolate.

VERDICT: Nothing to Tweet about – it’s only in the top 35% of the best-rated wines in the USA. BRAD Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s marriage might not have worked out but it’s been a vine romance for their Miraval Rosé.

Despite filing for divorce in 2016 they still share the winery based at their former French summer home where this light wine is made.

VERDICT: Delicious – and despite the famous owners it’s reasonably priced. A perfect summer sipper but can be enjoyed all year. CHAT show host Graham Norton will get everyone talking with his offerings.

And you won’t want to put a cork in his latest – a rather nice rosé.

It’s a pale shade of pink but packs in the flavour with lots of citrus and delicate fruits.

VERDICT: A moreish wine with fragrant aromas.

Nice with spicy chicken, prawns or salmon. THE rapper might have 99 problems…but champagne ain’t one.

His brand’s flagship Brut Gold fizz is in a gold bottle adorned with a pewter ace of spades, costing upwards of £250. Bottles often feature in Jay-Z’s videos. VERDICT: Swapping rhymes for vines works for Jay-Z – and it’s good enough for Queen Bey. This fresh and lively champagne is packed with citrus fruit flavours. THE pop star’s Sister Moon is a robust red produced on his estate in Tuscany.

He and his wife Trudie Styler bought the Il Palagio pile 20 years ago.

Sister Moon is made with a blend of sangiovese, merlot and cabernet sauvignon grapes and is matured for two years in French oak barrels.

VERDICT: Sting has plenty to sing about. It’s polished with plum and vanilla favours and goes well with beef and spicy food.
