Hello revenge RYAN SPRINTER TO LAND CHAMPION PRIZE

- ADDEYBB. BIOMETRIC ROYAL LINE PTARMIGAN RIDGE

The Kevin Ryan-trained charge finished a length-and-three-quarters off his rival in the Commonwealth Cup at the Royal meeting but there were excuses for that defeat.

The main one was that the selection was very awkward at the start and he lost at least two lengths in a race which favoured those at the front of the pack.

He was outpaced at the quarter-mile pole before finishing off his race well.

Given a 10-week break by Ryan, Hello Youmzain recorded a career-best effort to land the Group One Haydock Park Sprint in September with James Doyle employing different tactics.

That afternoon, he bounced out of the stalls and simply galloped his rivals into the softening Merseyside ground. The best-priced 5-1 looks a bet to nothing each-way.

The feature Champion Stakes (4.00) looks wide open with Japan the market leader in most books but he is no certainty to line-up after his Longchamp disappointment and the each-way value has to be Wolferton Stakes winner

That success alongside his win in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes was achieved in deep ground and with a wet weather forecast, he is sure to relish conditions and comes here relatively fresh coming off a 70-day break.

The three-year-old and Britannia Stakes winner can make a triumphant return to the Berkshire track by landing the Balmoral Handicap at 4.20, while could well be the Gosden substitute for the brilliant Stradivarius if the rains continue to fall in the Long Distance Cup at 2.45.

The last named hosed up in last year’s November Handicap at Doncaster and recorded a career-best last time out in the September Stakes at Kempton Park.

He looks sure to take another huge step forward stepping up to two miles for the first time.

As far as this afternoon is concerned, the testing ground at Goodwood should be perfect for (nap) in the 3.40.

Despite his welter weight, the likeable five-year-old remains nicely handicapped on his best form and can successfully give 9lbs away to the enigmatic Paddy Power to take the top prize.
