PLEA OVER EVIL CONNELLY: My mum has never shown remorse over Baby P. Don’t ever let her out of prison

- By SIAN HEWITT

THE daughter of Baby P mum Tracey Connelly has written a letter begging the Parole Board not to release her.

Connelly, whose son was tortured to death in 2007, has launched a bid for her release.

But an insider said the con’s daughter had written that her mum has “no remorse for actions” and “cannot be trusted”.

They told us: “It is a real blow to her bid for freedom as she was hoping things would sail through this time.

“She has very much kept herself to herself in the run-up to this hearing, but now she is having to face opposition from her own family.

“She’s worried her own kid wanting her to stay away will be a real shock to those deciding her fate.”

Connelly was locked up for allowing 17-month-old Peter to be tortured to death by her lover Steven Barker and his brother Jason Owen in Haringey, north London.

Connelly, 38, who also has three daughters – who were taken into care – was initially jailed in 2009 after admitting causing or allowing the death of her child.

After four years she was released on licence. But she was sent back to jail in 2015 after she was caught selling indecent photos of herself online to perverts turned on by her part in the case.

The insider went on: “The letter didn’t go into much detail but it does say how the daughter believes her mum has no remorse for her actions, always finding reasons to blame others for predicaments she finds herself in.

“It says Connelly has written to her daughter in the past blaming her ex for the treatment of little Peter, and for having no money when she was released from prison which resulted in her selling photos.

“She feels her mum can never hold her hands up and would do anything for a bit of money. She also says her mum is a weak woman who cannot be trusted.”

The letter will be read out at the hearing, due before the end of the year. It is believed that the daughter will have nothing to do with Connelly if she is released.

The Daily Star Sunday revealed how Connelly was planning a new life in Reading with her new boyfriend who lives there, and who she knew before she was with Steven Barker.

It is expected Connelly, held in Low Newton prison in Durham, will give evidence to the Parole Board to convince them that she is a changed woman and no longer a danger

to the public.
