Pats star Gilmore’s slow burn

-

THE big game for me this weekend is the New England Patriots hosting the Dallas Cowboys. This is the No.1 offense in the NFL from the Cowboys taking on the No.1 defence of the Patriots. You don’t get to see this sort of match-up in the regular season often and it’s going to be a great battle.

Is this Cowboys offense the real deal?

Can the Patriots and star corner Stephon Gilmore (below) slow down this Cowboys offense?

I think they’ll do that and then it becomes about the Cowboys staff and their in-game adjustments. Can they evolve and change what they’re doing against the Patriots if it isn’t working? We’ll learn a lot about the Cowboys offense from this game. And the way they’re able to deal with the Patriots defence will tell us a lot about if they have credentials as real Super Bowl contenders. The San Francisco 49ers are 9-1 and they got back to winning ways in great fashion last week but they’ve got a tough run of games over the rest of the season – starting against the Green Bay Packers tonight.

I don’t have a lot of faith in this Green Bay defence going into this game. They do get a lot of turnovers – that’s one thing they’re good at – but if the 49ers look after the ball, they’ll put up points. Their defence needs to show how great they are against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

It will be a great match-up on both sides of the ball.

DAK PRESCOTT

In lower tier of MVP candidates but has the the No.1 offense and is driving the bus.

He is throwing the ball extremely well and has total command. A win today could see him move into MVP contention.
