HOLLY’S JUNGLE SNUB

Bring her back plea as ratings tumble

- ED GLEAVE

I’M A Celebrity bosses are ignoring fans’ demands to bring back Holly Willoughby.

Viewers have moaned that the series has been “boring” without the This Morning favourite.

Ratings have tumbled, despite Ant McPartlin’s return alongside his pal Declan Donnelly.

I’M A Celebrity chiefs are ignoring pleas to bring back Holly Willoughby.

Fans have been campaigning online for the presenter, 38, to return to the show.

Among the scores of posts, one said: “It’s boring all the way this year. Bring back Holly. She was fun.” Another added: “I actually prefer Holly and Dec.”

Holly hosted the show last year when she stepped in for Ant McPartlin, 44, after his drink-driving conviction.

Her guest stint helped the show pull in the biggest ratings in its history.

But without her this year the show’s viewing figures have dropped by five million.

A friend of Holly’s told the

Daily Star Sunday that she was keen to be involved in even a small way if producers would allow it.

But they are remaining defiant and want to keep Ant and co-host Declan

Donnelly, 44 as the only presenters, meaning Holly won’t be back.

A TV insider said “Producers like having Ant and Dec back together. “Even with the ratings going down, they are still confident the lads are the best presenters for the show.

“That means they won’t be bringing Holly back.” Some fans have even called for Holly to return alongside her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield, 57. They want the pair to present I’m A Celebrity, so that Ant and

Dec can head into the jungle as contestants instead.

One viewer said: “Waiting for Ant and Dec to enter the jungle and Phil and Holly to host the show.”

And another said: “Petition for Ant and Dec to go into the Jungle next year with Phillip and Holly hosting.”

Fans are backing Holly and Phillip despite rumours they are secretly at war.

It’s been claimed their relationship has become “strained” in recent months.

According to insiders, Phillip has grown “jealous” of Holly’s popularity and success.

It is also claimed their This Morning co-star Ruth Langsford,

59, has filed a formal complaint about Phillip’s behaviour behind the scenes.

But ITV insiders have denied the rumours and branded them “malicious gossip”.

MANY fans say I’m A Celebrity hasn’t been as good this year.

It’s still a country mile better than most shows on the box, but it has failed to hit the heights of old.

Holly Willoughby was set for a return for the jungle finale, it was claimed.

She was a big hit last year, sitting in with Declan Donnelly as Ant McPartlin battled his demons. But, for whatever reason, it hasn’t happened and viewers are mystified.

Holly would surely have pepped up those struggling ratings.

The show desperately needs a touch of girl power.

Give Holly a chance next time!
