Band paint new pic OVERTONES TRADE UP FOR FRESH START

POP star Lizzo wowed the crowd as she kitted herself out in a bridal-style outfit at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball in Inglewood, California.

LOYLE Carner sold out Alexandra Palace, one of the capital’s most iconic venues – no small feat for a young artist without chart success.

Loyle was as genuine a rapper as they come, yet he worked the stage with all the presence of a superstar.

He said: “We realised a small part of a dream we’ve had since our first tape. I’ll never forget it.” continue after the death of fellow member Timmy Matley in 2018.

Mark Franks said: “When we went on tour last year it was ultimately in tribute to Timmy.

“Every night was a legacy show for him. Continuing is a tribute in itself. I guess for Lockie, Timmy’s passing was his trigger to leave. But he had suggested for a number of years it was time to move on.”

The lads are currently on their Christmas Party tour, bringing festive cheer as they warm up for a very big 2020.

Mark explained: “It’s a biggie for us – 10 years of The Overtones, our anniversar­y year.

“So we have a brand new Christmas EP out and a little surprise at the end of the show, preparing you for a big year.

“We’ve been prepping the new album since the summer. We have to get it right because it’s an album that respects our past but looks into a future.

“Next year will be a year of celebratio­n for us, so lots of shows and lots of activity with our fans.”

The Overtones tour continues at Sheffield City Hall tomorrow.

It is on for the next two weeks, ending at London’s O2 Indigo on December 19.

The Christmas EP is out now.
