Jimmy girl: I’m scared to leave the house now

MODEL TELLS OF GLASSING ATTACK HELL

- By ED GLEAVE

JIMMY White’s girlfriend is scared to go out in public after being glassed in a nightclub.

Model Jade Slusarczyk, 34, suffered a gash to her face in a horror incident late last month.

Speaking about her ordeal for the first time, she revealed it has affected her mentally as well as physically.

Jade said: “This has really shaken me up. I feel anxious and wary all the time.

“I’ve only left the house a few times, including when I had to go to the hospital to get my cut checked and I didn’t feel safe to have anyone behind me. I feel nervous all the time.”

Jade fears the ordeal could have ruined her career as a Sky Sports walk-on girl and TV presenter.

She added: “In my line of work I would struggle to do my job if I didn’t feel confident. All of my family and friends are really upset and shocked by what’s happened. They’ve seen how much it’s affected me. It has really knocked me for six.”

Jade has been dating the champion snooker player, 57, for two years.

Jimmy credits her with helping to turn his life around after a battle with drugs and addiction.

Jade was on a night out at Manchester’s Revolution De Cuba on November 29 when a fight broke out between two men.

A glass was thrown across the room and smashed into Jade, leaving a two-inch cut on her forehead. She said: “One second I was saying goodbye to some friends and the next I felt something bounce off my head. I thought I had a drink on me, but then my hand was covered in blood. In seconds it was all over my dress. “My friend ran with me to the toilet. There was blood everywhere and the girls who were with me seemed very concerned. That made me nervous because they could see what had happened and I couldn’t. The blood was pouring out of me like a tap.” An ambulance was called and Jade had emergency treatment for more than two hours.

She said: “They managed to glue the cut, but pretty soon it burst open and started weeping, so they had to re-glue it. I will be left with a scar. “The thing is, if this glass had been thrown two seconds earlier it would have hit me right in the middle of my face. I could have been blinded and that would have been lifechanging and ruined my career.” Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the venue as part of an investigation into the incident.

There are as many as 87,000 glass attacks in the UK every year.

Jade is calling for all pubs and clubs to use a safer alternative to glass. She added: “If I can stop this happening to one other person, then something positive will have come out of this.”
